Sustainability at POHP: Compassion in Action
At Piece of Heaven Project, we believe in a world where the environment doesn’t need protection. Our mission is to foster a future where humans live in harmony with the Earth, its creatures, and each other—through compassionate, sustainable choices.
Facing Climate Reality
In 2021, wildfires threatened our sanctuary, turning the sky orange and filling the air with smoke. This terrifying experience was a clear sign that climate change is no longer a distant threat. It’s here, and without urgent action, it will only intensify. The time to act is now.
Compassionate Living for a Sustainable Future
At POHP, we believe that protecting the environment starts with changing how we live. By embracing sustainable, compassionate choices—like a plant-based diet and mindful practices—we can reverse the damage done to our planet. We show how small changes in our daily lives can make a big impact on the health of the Earth.
Sustainability in Action
Our sanctuary serves as a living example of sustainability. Visitors experience the tranquility of nature, while engaging in activities that promote well-being, such as animal care and “forest bathing.” These programs highlight the physical and mental benefits of connecting with the environment.
We also support rural communities and promote eco-tourism, in line with sustainability goals. Through responsible land use and education, we advocate for a compassionate lifestyle that reduces our collective environmental footprint.
Why Net Zero Isn’t Enough
While corporate net-zero efforts are important, they aren’t enough. Up to 25% of global warming gases come from the animal agriculture industry, including methane and nitrous oxide, which are far more harmful than CO2. Our food choices are crucial in mitigating climate change.
A Global Call to Action
At POHP, we’re leading the charge for collective change. Together, we can create a world where compassion drives sustainability. Join us in making a difference—for animals, for the planet, and for future generations. The time for change is now.
